There are a lot of myths about arthritis and some of them were told to you as kids to stop you from doing annoying habits.
One of the most infamous myths is that cracking your knuckles will lead to arthritis as an adult. Research has shown that
this is not true, cracking your knuckles allows carbon dioxide (CO2) into your joints, but is not known to cause
arthritis.
Another fact that people are not aware of is that arthritis is treatable. Although there is no cure, if caught early enough
you can effectively eliminate the progression of arthritis. Another myth is that everyone will eventually get arthritis as
they age. First off, not everyone will get arthritis, in fact most people won’t. Secondly, there are forms of arthritis
that may effect children at the age of 2.
Most people also believe that arthritis is something that you just deal with it and it flares up every once in a while.
While this may hold true for some types of arthritis, a lot of the over 100 types of arthritis are systemic and may attack
your organs and eat away your joints so badly that it will require surgery. If you have arthritis don’t be contempt to just
deal with it. Take an active stance in your fight to treat and prevent the further spreading of the arthritis.
